TAHOE EXPLOSION at its JENs with a spicy bite to kick off the weekend.
As an omnivore, I also love Tahoe (Tofu). Tahoe prepared is like an explosion in the mouth. Packed with flavour, rich in vitamins and minerals.
A pure indulgence. This recipe is SO delicious and also easy to prepare.

TAHOE Explosie

INGREDIENTS

◻︎Brown Beans (jar) 500 grams
◻︎Tofu 1 Block
◻︎Pointed Cabbage 1 st.
◻︎Red peppers (chilli) 2x
◻︎Onions 2x
◻︎Red Paprika 1x
◻︎Tomato Ketchup 2 tbsp.
◻︎Garlic 5 cloves
◻︎Vegetable stock cube 1x
◻︎Fresh Djahé (approx. 10 cm)
◻︎Lime leaves 3x
◻︎Coconut cream 150 ml.
◻︎Peppercorns (whole) 2 tsp.
◻︎Surinam Curry 2 tsp.
◻︎Mild Curry 2 tsp.
◻︎Kentjoer 2 tsp.
◻︎Turmeric 2 tsp.
◻︎Sereh 2 tsp.
◻︎Olive Oil 1 cup.

TOOLS

◻︎Wajang
◻︎Ladle 2x
◻︎Peeler
◻︎Cutting knife
◻︎Cutting board
◻︎Sealable trays (left-over)

MISE en PLACE

1. Dice Tahoe.
2. Cut pointed cabbage into coarse pieces.
3. Peel and finely chop onions.
4. Pepper pitted, cut into cubes.
5. Cut garlic into coarse pieces.
6. Red chillies coarsely chopped.
7. Tomato ketchup in a bowl.
7. Seasons on 1 plate separately.
8. Peel off the skin of the djahé.
9. Place everything neatly on the kitchen counter. Easy to prepare.
All ingredients neatly arranged on the kitchen counter. Ready for preparation.

PREPARE
1. Wajang on the heat (medium-high). Olive oil in the pan.
2. Fry Tahoe until light brown. Tahoe starts to expand slightly.
3. Tahoe lightly brown, remove from pan into a bowl.
4. Lightly fry onions.
5. Add Vegatable stock cube ◻︎Red Peppers (chilli) ◻︎Garlic ◻︎Djahé
◻︎Peppercorns ◻︎2 Curry's ◻︎Paprika ◻︎Tomato ketchup.
Simmer whole for 10 minutes. Stir gently.
6. Add Coconut cream ◻︎Lime leaves ◻︎All last spices
◻︎Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir gently.
7. Add ◻︎Pointed Cabbage ◻︎15 Minutes simmer. Stir gently.
8. Add ◻︎Brown Beans. ◻︎10 Minutes simmer. Stir gently.
9. Add Tahoe as a topping over the dish.
Dinner ready. Serving up. Selamat makan!
